Located in Ashburton, a manufacturing workshop of a small team of skilled engineers is in need of a Workshop Assistant to join us so we can continue growth and meet production demands to a very high standard.

About the role

  • Stock transfers between sites

  • MIG Welding - Light Fabrication

  • Cutting steel (using band saws)

  • Pre-kitting

  • Assisting with Lean Manufacturing processes

  • General workshop housekeeping

  • Assisting the Production Manager with general day to day tasks

  • Daily forklift operation


Skills and experience

  • Mig Welding – Light Fabrication| experience is desired but not essential

  • Quality | Every task carried out to meet standards and carry out problem reporting working to KPI's and continuous improvement.

  • Forklift | experience in operating, certificate or licence of benefit but not essential as can be provided.

  • Communication | Great written and verbal communication skills are important.

  • Time Management | Ability to work on tasks individually and as a team to meet deadlines.

  • Health & Safety | A high regard to H&S, appreciate a clean and tidy workplace and have care for tools and equipment.
